Shaking the Snow-globe

My new favorite place is the Asheville Arboretum from which many pictures will come. Iciscles formed by recent ice becoming water and following gravity. One hour later they were all gone like they had never been at all.
   Next is a picture of the front drive and I must find out about these wonderful red stick bushes. Wonder what they will look like when real spring arrives. The Tea Viburnum is already lifting pink bud toward the sky. So what does this have to do with snow-globes? In a book I am reading (The Blue Shoe / Anne Lamont) she described the february weather as being like living in a snow-globe. Sunny, warm, calm and lovely and then someone shakes it and there is snow and ice again. Seemed like a good description of the recent weather.

The first sun rise in my new home

The long journey from one home to another is finally over. It took much longer than I expected but my new situation is well worth it. That first day I found out the sun rises in my kitchen window- wonderful for me since I love sunrise. I wake up singing this song from the 60’s play HAIR. Yes I am that old.

good morning star shine, the earth says hello You twinkle above us   we twinkle below    good morning star shine, you lead us along     my love and me as we sing our early morning singing song.

The butterfly bush covers the whole window

Part of the fun of a new home is to see what comes up and blooms as the seasons change. This butterfly bush just grew and grew until it was above the window..now it pushing at the roof overhang. It is very popular with the bees, butterflies and even a few hummingbirds. Nature keeps me amused.
