Floating Homes

Floating Homes of the Future  This is from an articles in Forbes magazine about homes of the future. I have always thought that living on a houseboat would be wonderful. The link leads to the rest of the houses but these two were my favorites.  They use solar and wave electricity for power. The second one, the lower floor would be under the water- how really cool is that!

This picture is by my computer and inspires me to lighten up!

Well this dear laughing varmit is being retired due to copyright infringement. I have realized that it came from cute overload without permission. I have written to them but decided I had better change anyway. So this ragged pink flower from my garden is the new replacement. If I get permission, he may be back but for now………missing but never forgotten.

Also you may realize that my URL is (hopefully) now. I will be working on the site so if something does not work, please tell me.  I look forward to a long and fun trip together in the days ahead.

You are what you read

Yesterday I read a quote whose author I did not write down- oops :  “You are what you read.” Thinking about that lead me to my reading habits, which are a lot like me (well duh) serious, spiritual with a healthy dose of fantasy. These are my last three books.

Bright-sided: How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America by Barbara Ehrenreich
The concept of toxic optimism was new to me- actually not the idea but to name it as a social bias. Still reading.

The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen
There is a body buried under the peach tree – passions, betrayals, family secrets which touch the hearts of the living.  I enjoyed this light  read.       She also wrote Garden Spells which I enjoyed tremendously.

Imhotep by Jerry Dubs     Stumbling into an unfinished tomb, our hero find a doorway that opens into ancient Egypt before the pyramids. Sounds hoocky but was a wonderful story with interesting background and characters.
