Books are my travel companions

Empathy is really important… Only when our clever brain and our human heart work together in harmony can we achieve our true potential.

Right now I am reading Buddha’s Brain by R. Hanson with R. Mendius – a Ph.D. and an MD.     The theory that if you can change your brain, you can change your life has intrigued me. Neuroscience has progressed significantly in recent years. This tome not only shows effective ways to develop real happiness in our lives, but also explains physiologically how and why they work.  Interesting.

Literature deserves its prestige for one reason above all others – because it’s a tool to help us live and die with a little bit more wisdom, goodness, and sanity.
