Ready Set Write Post

Ten minute free-write….I am a slow at typing.

Blogging started for me three years ago. The first year I wrote every day, the second was mostly pictures and this year mostly silence. I think of topics but filter them as not important enough. With the massive things going on in the world, my prattle seems of little importance. I have recently agreed with myself to give it more time and write whatever I want, just for me. If others like it that’s great but not the goal….or is it.  I find that I miss the little daily communication with a group of loyal followers who I have never met. You are real people to me with lives in far-away places who are generous enough to share snippets of your world. Today’s ready set write seemed a perfect place to start my new goal. Daily Prompt- New Sensation (or olde)

The daily prompt reminded me of a moment in time, music and fashion. In 1968, with strawberry blonde hair almost to my waist and bought my first car. It was a pumpkin colored Fiat spider convertible. My favorite boots were thigh-high and orange, matching the car. My favorite dress was an orange knit turtleneck mini-dress. I once saw a picture of me taken in this outfit leaning against my dear car.  The actual picture may be long gone but in my mind’s eye, it is still very clear. These were the days before I worried about sunscreen, the convertible top was always down even in the winter – sunglasses, the wind in my hair and “Sargent Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band” blaring from the radio. I feel younger just by remembering!

On the edge..daily post

The butterfly bush covers the whole window

Part of the fun of a new home is to see what comes up and blooms as the seasons change. This butterfly bush just grew and grew until it was above the window..now it pushing at the roof overhang. It is very popular with the bees, butterflies and even a few hummingbirds. Nature keeps me amused.
