Floating Homes of the Future This is from an articles in Forbes magazine about homes of the future. I have always thought that living on a houseboat would be wonderful. The link leads to the rest of the houses but these two were my favorites. They use solar and wave electricity for power. The second one, the lower floor would be under the water- how really cool is that!

I love it! As long as they stop at detached floating houses, I wouldn’t want a tower block of them.

And people like to jump off tower blocks, they’d never be able to commit suicide, they’d just end up doing an amazing dive

I second the hurricane thought but I think that in a man-made lake, a very large pond it might just be delightful.

Lake Erie is a very large pond and it can get pretty scary. I sure would like to try it. We stayed on a house boat for a week on one of those family vacations when I was quite young. I thought it was wonderful.

the Aqua-Jetsons! ha. rocking to the waves would be wonderful while the sea is sanguine….not so much when she is roiling and rollicking though…

These were the most practical of the ones I saw. Perhaps there is a place without rough water? Not ready for prime time yet I guess but fun to think about.
