This little Quince bush is half hidden but the vibrancy of the pink catches your eyes. I get excited reveling in all the different shades of pink and green at this time of year. The following poem seems to be in the spring theme. This is from a collection of poems my Father saved when he was young. The ironing board was set up in front of the bookcase and I would read when I was supposed to be ironing. I know which has benefited me most!!
Young and Old by Charles Kingsley
When all the world is young, lad, And all the trees are green;
And every goose a swan, lad, and every lass a queen,
Then hey the boot and horse, lad and round the world away;
Young blood must have its course, lad, and every dog his day.
When all the world is old, lad and all the trees are brown;
And all the sport is stale, lad, and all the wheels run down;
Creep home and take your place there, the spent and maimed among;
God grant you find one face there You loved when all was young.
Lovely poem! I love the pink flowers too! 😉
